Two phases, lower targets, more breathing room. The most popular path to a simulated trading portfolio at Polar Funded.
The 2-Step Challenge is the most popular evaluation path at Polar Funded. Two phases, both with and each with a lower performance reward target than a single-phase challenge — making it more achievable for participants who want more room to work.
Pass both phases, get funded. Once you’re on the simulated trading portfolio, there are no performance reward targets, 20% consistency rule rules, no time pressure. Just two risk limits and 90% of everything you make.
8 things to know ↓
The 2-Step uses two shorter performance reward targets instead of one bigger one. Phase 1 requires 8% performance reward. Phase 2 requires just 5%. Each phase has — plenty of time to reach your target.
Here’s exactly what applies in each stage so there are no surprises:
Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 have a . This gives you plenty of time to reach your performance reward target without rushing.
This is one of the biggest advantages of trading with Polar Funded. You can be patient, wait for your setups, and trade your strategy — not the clock.
The simulated trading portfolio performance reward is 90% to you. No tiers, no minimum thresholds, no deductions. Make $2,000 performance reward on a $25,000 simulated trading portfolio and you withdraw $1,800.
No cap on withdrawal frequency once eligible — request payouts whenever you want after your first 7 days.
2-Step simulated trading portfolios require 7 calendar days of trading activity before the first reward distribution. After that, no cooldown — request withdrawals whenever you want.
Trading activity means any open or closed trade. No win rate required. One trade per day across the 7-day window is enough to unlock reward distribution eligibility.
Every reward distribution is guaranteed within 24 hours on business days. If we miss that window, you keep 100% of that reward distribution — no exceptions.
Your challenge fee is refunded on your very first successful reward distribution. Not your fourth — your first. If you’re a profitable participant, the cost of the challenge is completely temporary.
MT5 is supported on both the challenge and the simulated trading portfolio:
Automated trading and EAs are permitted. Copy trading from other simulated trading portfolios is not allowed.
Generate 12% performance reward in any 3-month window on your simulated trading portfolio and your balance automatically increases by 25%. No application, no fee required.

How does the 2-Step Challenge work?
You purchase a challenge account, then trade through two phases. Phase 1 requires an 8% performance reward target. Phase 2 requires a 5% performance reward target. Each phase has Once you pass Phase 2 while staying within the risk limits, your account is upgraded to a simulated trading portfolio automatically.
What are the performance reward targets for each phase?
Phase 1: 8% performance reward on your starting account balance. On a $10,000 account, that’s $800. Phase 2: 5% performance reward on your starting balance — $500 on a $10,000 account. Once Phase 2 is passed, you move straight to your simulated trading portfolio with no further evaluation.
Is there a time limit on either phase?
Yes. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 have a . Your account stays open for up to
Do I need to pay again for Phase 2?
No. The single challenge fee covers both phases. Once you pass Phase 1, your account automatically progresses to Phase 2 at no additional cost.
What happens after I pass both phases?
Your account is automatically upgraded to a simulated trading portfolio. The performance reward targets disappear — there’s nothing to maintain on the funded side. Trade indefinitely with the 3% daily / 6% total drawdown limits and keep 90% of all performance rewards.
What are the rules during the challenge phases?
The same two risk limits apply across both phases: 3% maximum daily loss and 6% maximum total drawdown. In addition, each phase has its own performance reward target (8% in Phase 1, 5% in Phase 2). 7 minimum trading days, 20% consistency rule requirements.
What are the rules once I’m funded?
On the simulated trading portfolio, the performance reward targets are gone entirely. The only rules are: 3% maximum daily loss and 6% maximum total drawdown. 20% consistency rule rules, 7 minimum trading days, no time pressure.
How is the daily loss limit calculated?
The 3% daily loss limit is calculated from your account balance at the start of each trading day. On a $25,000 account, the maximum you can lose in a single day is $1,000. Breaching this on any day closes the account (or the challenge phase).
Can I hold trades over the weekend or through news?
Yes. No restrictions on holding trades over weekends or through news events, on both challenge phases and the simulated trading portfolio.
Can I use EAs or automated trading?
Yes — EAs, bots, and automated trading are permitted across all phases and the simulated trading portfolio. All activity must be generated by you. Copy trading from other simulated trading portfolios is not allowed.
When can I request my first reward distribution?
After 7 calendar days of trading activity on your simulated trading portfolio. After your first reward distribution, you can request withdrawals as often as you like — no cooldown, no cap on frequency.
When do I get my challenge fee refunded?
Your full challenge fee is refunded on your first successful reward distribution. As soon as you make your first withdrawal from your simulated trading portfolio, the challenge cost is returned to you automatically.
How fast are payouts processed?
Within 24 hours on business days. If we miss the window for any reason, you keep 100% of that reward distribution.
What is the minimum withdrawal?
Minimum withdrawal is $100. No maximum — withdraw your full performance reward balance in a single request if you want.
Which platforms are supported?
MetaTrader 5 (MT5) — available on both challenge phases and the simulated trading portfolio.
How does the scaling plan work?
Generate 12% performance reward in any 3-month window on your simulated trading portfolio and your balance automatically increases by 25%. No application required. Maximum account size is $200,000.
What happens if I fail a phase?
If you breach a risk limit during either phase, that challenge account closes. You can purchase a new challenge at any time — there’s no restriction on retries or how many accounts you hold simultaneously.
Can I run multiple challenge accounts at once?
Yes. You can hold multiple challenge and simulated trading portfolios simultaneously across different account sizes. Each operates independently.
